A Study in Magic in Fall

A Study in Magic in Fall - Full Print

Inspiration behind the illustration:

Drawn in the midst of the current 2020 pandemic, the blm protests and a period where my household is suffering financially, this design means a lot to me as I decided to just sit down, and define what I want my future to look like, and although it seems idyllic, I just want it to be cosy, happy and full of further learning in terms of mysticism and magic. One day, I will get there, and this illustration, is my way of manifesting that dream, into reality.

Thoughts on being a young witch:

Growing up, I aspired to be a writer. I found it hard to contain all the emotions, feelings and ideas that I had at my finger tips, and I often was scolded for writing about complex subjects such as relationships and violence at such an early age.

However I didn't let the discouragement stop me, just as I refused to let the abuse that I sustained in my childhood stop me from progressing. It took me a long and hard number of years to trust people, and eventually love people again, however everything I went through helped to make me a stronger person today.

As I turned 30 this year, I found myself having to reevaluated what it means to be a person, and what it means to have a dream. Sure, I still want to be a writer, but what do I want to write, and how?

This has never felt more true than any other time in my whole entire life!

My relationship with my craft as a witch has also been slowly blossoming, and I feel a great sense of joy and achievement every time I learn and commit to memory a new herb, or a new type of mystical symbol that I haven't seen before.

Finally after months of deliberation I created a vision of the future, for myself. I hope to mature into a balanced human being, who continues to seek knowledge, for the purpose of nature and happiness.

A Study in Magic in Fall - Close Up #1

There are not a lot of moments in life when I feel truly at peace, and I hope to change that, I have often admired people who live life freely with no material things weighing them down, as they live like birds, soaring high, and traveling with their hearts. I don't think I can ever give up my dream to have a large
library and a quiet study, however I hope that inside my soul, I will find that same level
of liberation.

A Study in Magic in Fall - Close Up #1

Studying for me is as much fun as playing a computer game or reading a book.
The more you know, the more you know.

More is more!

So this art piece encompasses all those aspects of my life, and it is the start
of a long journey of discovering the true mellow that exists within
my precious alchemy, that is who I am as a person, as a witch,
as a lover and as a being on this planet.

As always, may your days be magical,
I will see you in the next time.
Bye bye!
